Most of 2006 I spent putting together Early Snohomish — a collection of historic images published by Arcadia Publishers. To promote its publication in 2007, and to prolong my love affair with the historic images of Snohomish, I began writing a monthly column for the Snohomish County Tribune called “Snohomish: Then and Now”. Each article features a historical photograph compared with a repeat shot of the same place or scene of Snohomish, along with a short description to give the historic image context. This weblog of the column is to celebrate its third year of publication, and this year (2009) just happens to be the 150th Anniversary of Snohomish’s founding!

I use the label Interdisciplinary Artist on my resume, which means that I can’t seem to settle down in one discipline of artistic expression. The sad story is illustrated HERE, which you can check out if you have nothing better to do.
More important is that I hope you will add comments to the story’s posted and that you will suggest places and scenes — especially if you have a historic photograph that we may scan, publish and add it to our collection of historic photographs of the Society.
Thanks!
Warner
